German renewable energy company Verbio has partnered with BayWa Group to expand its bio-LNG offering, BayWa Group announced on June 7.

From now on, freight forwarders can fill up with Verbio's bioLNG at eleven BayWa LNG stations in Bavaria, Baden-Wurttemberg, Lower Saxony, Hesse, and Saxony.

"Verbio is not only a producer of biomethane from agricultural residues but is also investing in the development of the CNG/LNG filling station network in Germany," said Klaus Mohrenweiser, managing director of the Verbio filling station company. "Including the eleven BayWa stations, we offer innovative freight forwarders and logistics companies a cost-effective and climate-friendly alternative to fossil diesel at 23 Verbio-owned bioLNG/bioCNG filling stations nationwide."

BayWa Power Liquids, a subsidiary of BayWa, will continue to operate the eleven automated filling stations.

"We believe in the bioLNG product and the associated possibility of decarbonisation in heavy-duty transport. With Verbio as a partner, we have a strong supplier of bioLNG at our side. Together we can offer our customers even better network coverage and ensure security of supply in a growing market,” said Stefan Tahedl, managing director of BayWa Power Liquids.
